Description
We rescused this 1983 Alfa Romeo Spider 1600 from a barn way back in 2014, and have been bringing it up to standard ever since. Too much work has been undertaken to go into in any depth but, in brief, all corrosion was cut out, endless new panels fitted (including the very last brand new, genuine boot lid in the UK), it has been fully resprayed in the stunning light Celeste Chiaro blue, the seats have been reupholstered with the correct, original material imported from Italy, a new Sonnenland soft-top has been fitted, wheels refubished and it is now freshly MoT’ed and ready to enjoy. Both thousands of pounds and countless man hours have been poured into this project. No corners were cut!
It's a rare early example of the S3 ‘Aerodinamica’, actually carrying over many aspects of its S2 predecessor (in fact, these cars are often referred to as the S2.5 generation). Sold initally as a French registered car (we still have the original handbook) the car was imported into the UK back in 2004. It’s unusual mix of blue livery, blue interior and blue hood actually matches perfectly the press materials used to publicise the launch of the new Spider back in the early 80s (see photos below), so we have strived to keep it as close to original as possible.
This is an absolutely stunning example and, if you’re in the market for a classic Alfa Romeo Spider, you really should consider it.
