Mid-engine, rear wheel drive, pop-up headlights, removable hardtop and a sharp Bertone design - the ingredients of the X1/9 sound like the perfect slice of classic Italian motoring, don’t they?

We’ve dealt with everything from a complete restoration project (the black 5-speed below) through to an absolutely adorable metallic light blue 1500 we got carried away with in a classic auction. One Italian lady owner from new, spent most of its time in London and had never been restored. We keep looking for another, but I’m not sure we’ll ever replicate that find.
